Personalities aside, if west coast is a tough sell, generally, and Monterey is pricey, then that combination could make this a hard convention to break even, and that's if everything goes smoothly. Throw in some major screwups, poor advertizing, a messy auction, Murphy probs, and this could make 2004 look like a sundae in the park. So far, what it has going for it is hike-worthy terrain and possibly eager convention staff, which, however, remains to be seen. Even if the basics are there, for staff, hotel, planning, I think a big draw speaker would be needed to make this location work. Hmmm, if we move it up to September, maybe we could get folks to tie their trip in with the Monterey Jazz Festival. . . sh --- Erik Olson <erik@thekrib.com> wrote: > We should be careful, though, _______________________________________________ AGA-sc mailing list AGA-sc@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/aga-sc
