[AGA-sc] PAM, Convention and Dave

Well, after all that, Dave WASN'T willing to give up all rights to PAM, only 
give permission for AGA to include back issues on the DVD. (I didn't even 
get into the discussion that he doesn't have the rights from the authors to 
GIVE that permission ;-)

I told him that at this point the BOD was only interested in all or nothing. 
We respectfully agreed to disagree, and it's over.  PAM is off the disks, 
now and furthermore, and there need be no further negotiations on the 
subject.  I still think this was the right way to handle it, because while 
Dave still thinks we're making a "poor business decision", he is perfectly 
OK with the fact that we made it.

He is happily off trying to recruit Steve Dixon as a possible "head honcho" 
to whip the SF crew into some semblance of order for a convention bid.  He 
was even amazingly perceptive when he told me, "The problem is that we don't 
have someone who has the necessary skills to organize this, AND has the 
popular support of the group.  I could organize it, but you know how I tick 
people off."<g>
