Now I have to decide whether we button up the new forum & password protect it until it's official. The list is too large to be considered private. Not that that is a bad thing, but I don't think we posted hteir that the forum should be discrete until ready. Or maybe we did, I claim lack of sleep, too.
I think we DID post that. Maybe it was back in the discussion. So I guess I could see how if someone was asleep in the back of the car and just woke up in time to hear "the forum software is up -- go register", one might think "the forum software is up -- go register and tell all my friends too". Anyway, cat's out of the bag, but I did disable registration until further notice, and put an announcement.
I am worried, by the way, that there is nobody else taking the reins of this project and leading discussion and direction. Again. I'm planning on turning into a pumpkin once the tech issues are dealt with.
I also got a call from Chuck Rambo last night. The same Skidmore guy has been e-mailing him asking about hotels in San Jose, but when Chuck sends him 3-page detailed responses on what worked for the ACA 10 years ago (and Chuck says there are LOTS of options that will fit our budget in SJ, btw), he gets NOTHING back from the guy. Aaaaaegh!Just a possibility, but if skid is *collecting* data, then he wouldn't necessarily write back again, especially if Chuck is providing such detailed info to begin with.
When Chuck writes back again and says "Was that information useful? How can we help you?" and gets nothing...
