Thank heavens for Larry! I hadn't heard what was going on, but with Larry in
charge, it sounds like he pulled the rabbit out of the hat for us. Where
were all the SF folks with all of this. Did they just fall in the deep end,
or did they abandon ship?

The Park Plaza hotel completely flaked on us for the convention, stopped
returning phone calls, our contact quit her job, etc. Larry picked up the
ball, and from scratch has negotiated a contract with the San Francisco
Sheraton for us IN ONE WEEK...ready for signing!
Kinda reinforces the whole bit about "do it ourselves next year".
Looks like our speakers so far are Wilson (not confirmed, but said he'd
come if asked), Senske and Eric Do. Still need three more to balance out,
and feels like we need one semi-big USA person as one of them with the Dr.
Tan void. I have a goal now of having the speaker lineup announceable at
NEC.
