I suspect, though, that Robert probably saw the writing on the wall that
AB as a forum was rapidly being eroded away by APC and others, and this
"merger" was just a way of getting out (if you can't beat em, join em)
and saving face before becoming completely irrelevant. No skin off
APC's back, they essentially acquired what few remaining unique
resources AB had (like Diana). I suspect no money changed hands in the
matter too.
But what reason would APC have for not keeping their local clubs section?
