Certainly. The problem is, some people sign up to be volunteers and then 
don't do the work. Some people pitch in and help "on-the-fly." I have 
always been a little sad that volunteers, don't get a discount or a 
comp, but I don't know how to psychically predict which people will 
actually work. :-)

This is where the free year's membership idea has always been an 
attractive one for me. I can EASILY add four issues to the memberships 
of everyone who volunteered.

I think even a token payment might make a psychological difference. See 
below.

I'll second what Karen said and I'll raise her one. My TAG volunteer 
hours are also more palatable to DAVID because he knows I'm getting 
paid. Even if it's a trifle compared to the work, it represents to him 
that I'm not being taken advantage of. So it upps the HAF (Husband 
Appreciation factor).
