  I
finally heard back from Sherri at the Mariott DFW. She is offering a $89/room
night with all other terms to be similiar to 2K3 except for the food and
beverages. I asked her to put together a  contract for us to look
  over......   Larry

Okie doke. I'll come up with something. I might need you to
supply some slides if you don't mind (don't know what yet). We could
use my pics but, in the name of humanity, there's only so much you can
subject these folks to.   I'll figure out the rest later.

We're talking about speaking at AGA right, or at
      NEC?

Well, If you tell me today (no pressure,
right ;-) I might be able to get Janine to get your name in the program.
After today, I'm still happy to step aside, but but the program will
already have gone to print.  Jeff's little trick took us by
      surprise.   Karen

 Tell
you what, by when do you need to know?  If I can come up with an
idea between now and then, I'll do it. Provided we can keep Penny from
        heckling ;-)

I just got another e-mail from Janine, and
that is what he agreed to do, but he still won't come early enough for
the AGA meeting.     You've got plenty to talk about... Aren't
you that famous guy who writes the plant column for AFM?  I know
you don't wear gold lame hot pants, but I bet you could still keep the
folks awake, and I'm sure they'd learn more from you than from that
        "other" columnist.<g>   Karen

Well, I'd have to have something to talk about -- I mean
better my usual claptrap ;-)   Btw, when Amano flies first clas, he only asks us to pick up the
coach cost and he pays the diff. That puts Jeff voice a whole octave
above Amano, a prima donna goes

Well,   I just heard from Janine, and he was
absolutely inflexible about coming on Thurs. instead of Friday, so I
guess I'm the AGA speaker... unless SCOTT wants to do
          it...<g>   Karen

is this pointing to the shape of things to come for AGA2007?

Hi Folks,   Jeff Senske is being a bit of a prima
donna about NEC... wants to fly first class, and will only work with
an ADA tank. (I think we have an Amano wannabe on our hands)
Add to this the fact that the flights he booked don't have him
getting in until 3:25... the AGA meeting will be over by then.
He says he didn't "remember" he was
supposed to speak at that, but I made it very clear to him when we
first talked.  In any case, the options at this point
are:   1. Janine is going to try to get him to
agree to fly coach (NEC can't pay that much for a domestic speaker)
               2. She was willing to put him up an
extra night if he'll fly in Thursday to do the AGA meeting
too.   3. She and I decided that I'd do a
program if we can't get something worked out with him.   4. I told her that if he got entirely
snooty about the first class, we could probably get Dennis Dietz to
fill in.  He does a beautiful job, is local, and would probably
be thrilled to be invited.   But then, after I got off the phone
with her, I was wondering whether we (AGA) could/should offer to pay
the difference and let him fly 1st class if he'll come in time to
speak at the AGA session.  What do you think?  I didn't
want to mention it to Janine until I heard from you guys, but we've
got to move fast on this.  She's not planning on calling him
until tomorrow to let her blood pressure lower a bit<g> but
then we need to get this sorted out pronto.   I can be easily swayed in any
direction.  I'm ticked that he's acting this way, ticked that
he blew off the AGA meeting, but I'd like to offer it to our real
die-hard members who show up early for this meeting year after
year.  I feel like me doing something is a bit of an
afterthought, though as Janine pointed out, it has been several
years since I spoke at NEC.   Thoughts? Other options I haven't
            thought of?   Karen
