I have an idea. No groaning!
We could encourage/support local clubs in "Saturday Seminar" type
events, with maybe only one or two speakers and an auction. What do the
clubs get? Our help in promoting their event, and behind-the-scenes
support. What do we get? Another "AGA" event, and 25% of the profits, if
any. I just made that up.
We give them access to our membership roster, and support them in TAG
and on our web site.
We give them good advice about the best way to do stuff via e-mail.
We don't do any of the work for them, and it sinks or swims on its own.
We could support them with a small amount of money up-front. Just enough
to get them going if they are a new or small club. But in any case, no
more than we can afford to lose outright.
So in this case, we are more like Seachem, and they are the event hosts.
We could just advertise that this option is available and see if it
sounds
attractive to a certain number of clubs each year.
