I doubt we can beat $100+/night in Atlanta. If we don't do it in December, then we might have to switch gears quick back to Dallas. Being close to the aquarium could be good. It makes the field trip much less of thing to deal with -- no vans or bus to rent.

If we want to have a convention this year and still prefer Atlanta over Dallas, that means we are still at square one as far as a site and date are concerned.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to give you guys a quick update on our
convention.

I am currently traveling up in Maryland, but I spoke
with Jim Rogers at Seachem and he reiterated that Greg
Morin and Doug and everyone else there would love for
us to have it in Atlanta. I let him know that we
intend to do there but at this point we are trying to
decide whether it be 2007 or 2008.

He gave me a hotel recommendation, Marriott Downtown,
it is a business class hotel and is 4 blocks from the
new world class Atlanta Aquarium. The best rate I
could get for Nov was $149/night for either 2007 or
2008.

I talked to the sales guy there for a while and he
came up with a better rate for Dec 11-13 of $104. This
is the only weeekend we can get this rate either in
2007 or 2008.

Obviously this is not an ideal weekend but we need to
decide as a group if it is still something we think is
doable.

We can still look at other properties but time is
short. I want to have a group decision on this within

with the rest of the planning.
