Re: [AGA-sc] [Fwd: Re: bookstore volunteer needed]

Howdy Jen,

Cheryl forwarded your email to the Board members to let us know the good news.

I can't explain the details of the "Bookstore" operation although I suspect they are few. However, as the Treasurer, I can help with one aspect -- money.

Any expenses you incur -- USPS postage or other delivery charges, packaging, etc. -- just keep a list and receipts. When you send these to me I will issue a check from the AGA account for reimbursement. You can do this as often as is convenient for you (annually, monthly, even weekly if it rings your bell). The reimbursement check is sent by USPS mail and usually arrives within 3-5 business days of when it is issued. Note that the bank's fulfillment contractor sends out envelopes that look to some like junk mail so you have to watch for the reimbursement checks. Should it happen that one is accidentally tossed out with the other jetsam of daily life, let me know and we'll take care of it.

If there is any large expenditure that would be burdensome, although I can't think of what right now, let me know and we'll handle that in a way that will keep you from being out of pocket. We occasionally purchase an order of books for Oriental Aquarium but I send payment directly to them, so mostly we're talking about postage and shipping costs.

You can send me your return address when you send your first receipts. My address is

2 Mayberry Drive
Tinton Falls, NJ 07724

Of course, you can reach me at this email address, and should the need arise at this phone number:
7 3 2-6 8 7-8 1 7 8

If you have any questions in these regards, just let me know.

Welcome to the Fun House of community service.

Hey Cheryl,

Talked it over with the fiance and thought about it some, and I'll
gladly take that job offer :)  I have a guest bedroom closet for easy
storage and mailing stuff is convenient to do on my way out of work,
just a quick stop on the 2nd floor mail room.  Should I call you some
time to talk over details?

I've also had the AGA Volunteer site open on my browser since the day
it was mailed out, still chewing over how much I can commit to the
2008 Convention.  You can bet I'll be first in line to help out, I
just need to figure out how!  Atlantan, eh?  Maybe close enough to
drive this time and not have to worry about trying to get everything
home with me on the plane!

- Jen
