Well, I don't know what's taking over your tank,
but I beleive it's "moss guy" that we were thinking of inviting. ;-) And
he may talk gooder than you, but I doubt he's as funny.
I also suspect that we can't afford more than two
"big" (as in expensive) speakers. So we have to choose between Claus,
Christel, Moss Guy or any other out-of-N.A. speakers. Though I want to
throw a little chum on the waters and see what we haul in if I offer to take the
European folks out collecting for a few days before or after the vacation if
they want to come on their own dime. If any bite, we could have a really
cool line-up.
As far as Seachem is concerned, I agree with you,
that having Greg do a talk AT Seachem could be really neat, as long as they have
the space for it. If not, I think we really have to invite him to speak at
the convention itself. I also agree I'd rather have him personally, but if
not I still think we need to extend the invitation. We should also
probably move this all over to Con-heads for discussion, but I can't
find it in my address book!

Yes, I know. The ink isn't even dry on the contract. In fact, it isn't
even wet yet -- not yet signed. But mere details like contracts shouldn't keep
the stouthearted from trudging ever onward -- we can leave trail of
breadcrumbs if we have to, right?
I wouldn't mind hearing Dr. M speak again, so long as it was him and
not a stand in. And maybe it's sort of expected that he will, being right
there and all. What about Greg speaks *at* SeaChem and it's part of the Field
trip -- tour followed by talk or vice versa? We haven't done that before, have
we?
We sort of promised ourselves last year we'd ask Fern Guy to come -- he
apparently speaks English even gooder than me and reportedly gives good talks.
And now that a fern is taking over my tanks, I'm all up for it. Yes,
Karen that fern that hid dormant'y for so long has turned into the Fern that
ate New Jersey. Downwind residents are advised to evacuate.
Maybe also having Christel would be shooting our wad of headliners all in
one year?
Hey we could get Amano, Christel, Karen, Claus, Fern Guy, and
few others and do a "Last Waltz" convention . . .one biggest baddest
convention . . .hmmmm . . .

We haven't talked about filling out the speaker
line up... Larry had just asked me to contact Amano & Tomoko. We'll
have to work out the rest.
I'll be back in plenty of time for NEC...
Thailand will be the second half of March.

Convention
Dear Yoshinori,
Could you please extend to Mr. Amano an
invitation to speak at our AGA Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, in
November of 2008. We are in the final stages of contract
negotiations with the hotel, and the dates planned for the convention
are November 13-16, 2008. We have so much enjoyed his
participation in past AGA conventions, and our members
are extremely interested in having the opportunity to learn even
more from him. We would be honored if he would consider coming
again!
I look forward to hearing from you as soon
as possible!
Sincerely,
Karen Randall
