Yes, we really do need to confirm with Mr. Amano, because how we line up other speakers will depend largely on whether he is coming or not. Our line up will look very different if he can’t make it.

We also need to know his preferences for times. We know it didn’t work well having his demonstration after dinner last time, because it just got too late. So we may need to move dinner forward, have our AGA Aquascaping contest results at another time, etc. Another thought would be to do the demo on Friday night, and have him be the speaker at the banquet. (or during the day on Sat. if he prefers)

So if he could give us a firm answer soon, with some feed back on logistics, it would be REALLY appreciated!

The weather has been very cold here too. We had a LOT of snow in December, but now we're back down to a few inches. I'm definitely tired of winter though! My R.A. is under pretty good control at this point, and I'm actually planning a trip to Thailand with Christel Kasselmann and Claus Christensen in March. It will be the first big trip I've taken since I got sick, so I'm very excited about it!

The rough plan for the convention weekend is that we will probably do a field trip to Seachem on Friday, and have most of our speakers on Saturday. (perhaps one or two Friday night) We would love for Mr. Amano to do a talk and also a demonstration, as he has done in the past, if possible. Since he is the first speaker we have contacted, we will do our best to arrange his talks at his preferred times. Our auction will be on Sunday. There is a wonderful public aquarium in Atlanta, just a few blocks from the hotel, so we expect people will want to visit that either before or after the convention also, though I don't know that it will be an "official" field trip organized by us. Beyond that, if Mr. Amano has anything he is particularly interested in doing or seeing in the area, we will do our best to see that he gets the opportunity!
