[AGA-sc] FW: The Blue Zoo

Hi folks,

David sent this to me last week, and I forgot to forward it to the rest of you.  I think it would be a great way to promote planted tanks and the AGA.  Unfortunately, it’s just on too late for me to commit to it on a regular basis… maybe if everyone took a turn or something?  If we can’t handle it among the BOD, maybe we could get volunteers from the wider AGA pool?

Hi Karen --

I can't remember if we talked about this at NEC -- The Blue Zoo, the new radio/Internet program where I am on as the "resident fishhead". In addition to the show being on live every Monday night at 10:00 PM EST on the terrestrial radio station in Cleveland, the audience listening on the Internet is even larger. Frank "Reece" Sandor, who is the program host, has told me that the initial show had over 42,000 online listeners, and the archived show has been getting 2,200 listeners daily. To hear the show, go to:

and click on either of the two shows -- 4/18 or 4/21.

Frank and I would like to include a planted tank segment, probably every other week. I am wondering the following:

1) Would you be able to get someone -- yourself, Luis, Scott etc. -- to be on each segment. It would be ten minutes, and all they would have to do is to chat about plants with Frank and me.

2) Who should I contact to see whether Amano would be interested in sponsoring the segment? The show is heard all over the world -- including the Far East, simply by tuning in on the Internet, as well as all the shows being archived so they can be listened to anywhere anytime. In terms of "bang for buck" for advertising dollars, this would be a natural for them to sponsor.

3) I'm trying to get

Take care,
David
