Re: [AGA-sc] HAP support

A couple years ago we advertised that the AGA would be supporting HAP programs for clubs that asked for help/swag.  Are we still doing that?  If so, what are we currently doing?  Having the conference here this year has energized the small cadre of plant keepers in the AAAA.  We're finally starting up a HAP and are starting to see people in the metro region who're interested in plants become aware of the club.  Being the kind of guy I am I want to take the momentum we've got now and go as far as we can with it so I have lots of people in the club to give me plants.  Err...so that we can get as many people in the club interested in aquatic gardening, I mean.

We give TAGs, PAMs, one-year membership gift certificates to any club that asks for whatever reason. We give Aquascaping DVDs for prizes for HAP or aquascaping contests. Basically, we "support" them by giving them stuff if they ask for it. Not many do. I don't know how else to support them and am open to ideas.

Are we still doing the premium club deal as well?

I was thinking that I would quietly discontinue it. In the five years we've had that option available, only two clubs have signed up.

On a related note, when are submissions for the first issue of next year's TAG due?

TAG's 2009 Publication Schedule:

Issue             Quarter          Materials Due       Printed     Mailed
TAG 22-1    Jan-Mar 2009     Nov 24, 2008      Jan 5       Jan 12
TAG 22-2    Apr-Jun 2009     Feb 15            Apr 6       Apr 13
TAG 22-3    Jul-Sep 2009     Apr 15            Jul 6         Jul 13
TAG 22-4    Oct-Dec 2009     Aug 15            Oct 5       Oct 12

And I'm already behind.
