You know, that appears to be a negative, though I haven't done any hard 
research to that end.  Certainly when I was setting it up 2 years (or 
whatever) ago, nobody could show me any example.

When it was recently suggested to the American Cichlid Association board 
by their newest junior member (who happens to run a very popular and large 
forum) that they start doing all correspondence on a forum, pretty much 
3/4 reacted like this: "I don't like poking around in forums.  My routine 
is that I check my e-mail every morning, and it just shows up in my 
inbox."  And the guy's response was "Checking the ACA forum should be the 
second thing you do every day."

That this continues to typify the forum "mentality" means that the 
mainstream software will probably not be served with plug-ins turning 
postings into true e-mail.  Oh well.
