Well, above all other things, he's a businessman, I suppose. But it could be they just run behind schedule. I wouldn't mind making it a rule that we post our stuff first regardless of ADA dates. I.e., if we publish ADA we do it in the issue after the AGA contest issue.

Or less antagonistically, we could simply move our contest up a few months -- although it wouldn't tie in with our November conventions. I don't think we can compete but I wouldn't want to be swamped or swallowed up by the ADA event.

When I think of all the time and effort, year after year that some of the AGA folks have put into the contest. . . to see the corporate giant come along and squeeze us off the road is a sad thought.

Oh crap, I have to start issuing award money! Someone remind me where/how I can look up the email addrs for sending the cash awards. . . I know I should know this but I (mea culpa) I forgot.

I'm a little uncomfortable saying this, but I have noticed that the ADA
folks are coming out with their results later and later. They gave me
their top 10 winners at the beginning of October so I could put them in
TAG 22-4 because I 1.) Pinky swore I wouldn't tell anyone and that no
one ever comes into my office. 2.) Threatened not to publish them at
all because it would conflict with the results of our own contest.

Well, that got me thinking. Are they moving their results back further
every year on purpose, to "take over" our contest?

Has anyone else noticed this?

Aquatic Plants Layout Contest 2009 with a great success.
We received a total of 1,342 applications from 51 countries. This is the
largest number of applications ever received.

Next year marks the 10th anniversary of the contest, and we would like
to promote this event more than ever, and have more applications.
We also uploaded next year's contest graphic images, and flier
information on above FTP server.
Please use these images for promoting the next year's contest.

We kindly requests to publish this next year's contest announcement on
your web site, magazines, and make a posting of this contest information
on your local planted aquarium hobby forum site.

We also printed A2 size poster and flier in hard copy. For our product
distributors, we started shipping the poster and flier with ADA product
orders. As

For example, on Aqua Journal Vol. 170, we have introduced the top prize
winning layouts as well as Nature Aquarium Party 2009 and Nature
Aquarium Training.
