I downloaded the Babel fish tool on http://doc.altavista.com/help/search/babel_tool.shtml which then allows you to right click on an individual frame within a frameset, and then select "Alta Vista Translate This Web Page" from the pop-up menu. This in turn opens up the Alta Vista translation web page in which you can select the language pair to translate from and to. All in all its a bit klunky and the amount of text it translates isn't vast. But it's better than nothing. There is bound to be a better one out there somewhere. This method appears to be the best way around sites with autoframe bits in their pages, such as will happen if you try to load an individual page like http://www.aquaristik-online.de/Aktuell/1998/11-12-praxis-page72.html. Funnily enough, if you translate the article using the Alta Vista pop up menu method, the translation word limit ends with the final last stop. There is a better one out there for French to English (and German to French) at http://www.voila.fr/Trans/. You can get this one to work without brining up the homepage by using the syntax: http://tr.voila.fr/urltrad.asp?url=http://"website"&lp=FRUK where "website" is the www.whatever.com bit of the site (or page) you wish to go to, &lp=FRUK is the bit telling it to go from FRensh to english(UK) Scot ________________________________________________________________________________ This message has been checked for all known viruses by the Star Screening System http://academy.star.co.uk/public/virustats.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the apistogramma mailing list, apisto@listbox.com.
