Huh?

I thought that Tubifex and Blackworms because they live in similar
conditions and are similar creatures are both potential carriers of
pathogens which can result in tropical fish tragedies.

But Bloodworms??  First off they aren't worms.  They are midge larvae.  I've
been feeding frozen (Hikari) bloodworms to my fish for the past 5 years and
have had no problems with them whatsoever.  The only negative postings I've
read about them is that if they have been thawed out at some time and
re-frozen they can be rotten and thus make the fish ill and./or kill them.
Allerigies to the hemaglobin: yes, definitely.  Seems most people are
sensitive to this.

I haven't had the opportunity to read Whattley's article as of yet, but are
you sure he's not on about Blackworms?  I know he's dead set against Tubifex
although Asian discus breeders feed these almost exclusively to their fish.
