Lianne, I had a spawning trio in a 10, but found that once the fry were out the extra female got beaten mercilessly. I didn't want to remove the extra female therefore, I moved them to a 15 with a piece of driftwood covered with java moss..some java fern anchored between broken flower pots and with two sponge filters. I had very little substrate, just enough to loosely cover the bottom. With this set up they raised many of spawns without any problems.
