A. trifasciata is pretty aggressive/territorial for its size. I usually use a
larger tank & keep them as trios. I don't think adding a target fish will help
things. It will just get beat up - or beat up the trifasciata if it is larger.
I'd suggest adding a lot of hiding places along with plants & wood to break up
the line-of-sight in your tank. I find a ball of Java Moss about 8"/20 cm in
diameter set in the middle of the tank does a good job.
