I currently have a tank with four females guarding eggs/young. The oldest group of fry are now about 2 weeks old. Something I haven't seen before happened yesterday. I came down to find that the female was only leading about half of the fry I left her with the other night. I thought perhaps some had been eaten during the night by other fish, or maybe her. On closer observation, I found the male on the opposite end of the tank with more than half of the fry. He's now been leading them around the tank for the better part of two days. I wasn't under the impression that male fils participated in brood care. Anyone seen this before?
