I usually do a hydrogen peroxide dip for the plants. Especially the ones I cultivate from "wild" ponds - ie. storm water retention ponds where people have dropped in their unwanted specimens like water hyacinth or wisteria. People will never learn I guess. Anyway I do a 10% H2O2 dip and it seems to do the trick - a little rough on some of the more delicate stuff.
