RE: Tropical Leaves (not oak/beech)

Ordering the leaves from Tropilab went thru the right customs checks.
The box had all the stamps when they came in. Also you will see them on
aquabid in the betta section.

Hi folks,

Totally missed the bulk of this thread last week, but I wanted to point
out that you have to be very careful when importing plant matter into
the
US (or any country for that matter). When we brought in aquatics from
Brazil a few years ago, there were a lot of problems in Miami. And
rightfully so! Various insects and small creatures can live on or in
the
leaves, nematodes can infest soil, etc. Everything we brought in had
been
heavily scrubbed in insecticidal soap, and in many cases had the leaves
and roots pulled off completely. Yet we still missed a few that the
customs agents had to destroy.

The good news was that after having to deal with all this, the customs
guys didn't really have any interest in harrassing us over our 100 fish
we
brought. :)
