 If the bag was small and there was no water/air surface area in the bag
(i.e. if the bag was folded over the tank edge), it is not impossible
that they suffocated... apistos would go more quickly than cories. I
would think that if the apistos were physically damaged, you would be
able to see evidence of that on their bodies.
