I don't think its Apistogramma taeniata. The claudal spot is too round in the Apistogramma taeniata compared to what I have. I was browsing the pics at fishbase.org and the fish seems very similar to Apistogramma pleurotaenia. The overall shape & color of the fish seems to be a match. The lateral line, claudal spot, suborbital line, general facial markings and slight vertical banding on the claudal fin all match. http://www.fishbase.org/summary/SpeciesSummary.cfm?id=46685 http://www.fishbase.org/Photos/PicturesSummary.cfm?StartRow=1&ID=46685&what= species What do you think? -----Original Message----- From: owner-apisto@v2.listbox.com [mailto:owner-apisto@v2.listbox.com]On Behalf Of John Wubbolt Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2003 10:51 PM To: apisto@v2.listbox.com Subject: RE: Help with ID My best guess on this fish, if its not a crossed species hybrid is an Apistogramma Taeniata. Then again, im not expert here.... just some pratical experience of years of breeding apistos My main focus has always been the fish in the tanks, not in the literature..... Either way..... good luck with them.... neat little fish... John ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -- This is the apistogramma mailing list, apisto@listbox.com.
