That's unfortunate.. You're right.. Everyone has different experiences!!
I guess that's what makes this hobby very interesting.. You're NEVER
BORED!  Hey, if you need extra females I have some!

I tried that, and the male killed both females. It was a 15 gallon tank 
heavily planted and had a ton of breeding places and hiding places. No 
dither fish, however a tank beside them had some baby rams in it and was

basically enough for the male to want to protect his tank. Eitherway, he

killed both females and now there are none. Too bad tho... he has really
red 
fins, very pretty fish.
so I guess that is to say, everyones experience will be different...
