Re: eremnopyge and baenschi



Now, the next new one:  Apistogramma eremnopyge:  This is what we all have
been calling the Apistogramma sp. Fresa ........ described by Kullander
......Oliver Lucanus and Julio Melgar had their hands on the first of this
fish.  Oliver is given the nod by the article on "discovery".

For a picture go to www.southernapistos.com and go to price list and there
are big pictures labeled "A. Fresa"

For sure I'm not the one that determines any of this but I'll bet they keep
their common names in the trade.  I don't know if that's a good idea or not.
I've been in this hobby since 1951 and I can't manage a firm decision on the
"common name" vs "scientific name"..........I really see both sides!
