So do I but the sly little beggars usually manage to lay and hatch their
young whilst I am watching another tank where courtship seems to be taking
place

If I do manage to get a batch of eggs, I place them in a small tank, which
I float in a display tank, and run a small air stone near them, very gentle
trickle of air bubbles, and to date I have had a 90% hatch rate. Once
hatched I change small amounts of water daily and raise the fry for approx.
10 days in the hatching tank before transferring them to a larger tank.

I'm currently raising fry from A. Sp. Opal, A. Caetei and A. Agassizi
"Double Reds" from this method and they are coming on nicely.
