Hello I have seen alot folks talking about peat and RO and this and that to control ph in their tanks and it has brought me to a question. In addition to my Apisto tanks I have a 150G Plant tank. So there you go. Why can't I use CO2 injection to set my ph at whatever level I need for the particular fish in the tank. I realize it isn't very cost effective but I just wonder if it is worth looking into. My tap water is extremely soft KH 1 GH4 PH 7.4. and I don't have many problems keeping my fish alive and healthy but I do seem to have problems spawning them. I have a trio of A. Nijsseni in a 55 and the dominant female stays black and yellow 24/7 and the male stays rather lit up also however he has nothing to do with the other female. I have yet to see any fry but I also have alot of corys in the tank and a pr of Large Angels too. The Apisto's have a chunk of wood in the middle of the tank and they guard it ferosciously around the clock. Maybe I should jack the temp up or something along those lines. The tank is a 55. heavily planted with a wet/dry and an emperor 280 on it for filtration. The bio-load is the 3 A. Nijsseni, 3 A. Gibbiceps, 2 C. Barbatus, 8 C. Adolfi, 3 C. Agassizi, 3 head-tail light tetras, 1 pair of cherry barbs and the pair of Angels. The angels spawn on a regular basis. But no jot with the Apisto's. I have split up some of the other Apisto's I have into their own tanks. But I do think I will have to drop in some dithers as the males seem to be taking a seriously beating. This is my 2 pr of A. Caucatoides. Any way any comments are appreciated. Thanks Again Gareth Casey
