There have been rumors of sex change and mouthbrooding in Crenicichla for a while. There are a lot of similarities between Pikes and Apistos (Crenicarines as well) - I observed "sneaker male" behavior in Crenicichla lucius, a behavior pattern typically attributed to Apistos. Vinny >I think I read it in Linke and Staeck--At least one of the crenicichla >species >has been show to do sex reversal. In other words, if you buy two, one >may turn >a male while the other stays a female. Several marine fish, including >clown >fish are known to do this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the apistogramma mailing list, apisto@majordomo.pobox.com.
