in looking for ways to store r/o water, i have found that the rubber maid
plastic garbage can (the one with the wheels) did work fine for me (maybe
the one that burst was defective?).  recently i have also started to use
the "tuff stuff" storage containers sold at home depot, i think the 36
gallon size was about $14 and the 28 gallon size was about $12 (they also
had smaller ones from rubbermaid):  these are rectangular boxes - so it
depends on how mobile you want your water containers to be...

to be even more off topic, i'm beginning to think that a stroll through
home depot solves many of life's little problems (i've been there six times
in the last three days).
