If you dehydate the eggs immediately after decapsulation by placing them in a very, very strong saline solution, they can be dried and stored for about five months or so and then hatched. As they are decapsulated, you can also use them straight as food, but they are quite expensive. Like five times the cost of regular eggs. The dead decapsulated eggs cost considerably less than even the cheap live eggs with the shells on them.
