Subject: worming
a pharmacist contact of mine who also keeps fish has told
me about a drug called prazanquamtal (that is what is here in canada). he
treats feeder fish with it and also wild-caught discus. apparently it only
requires a single dosage to get rid of internal parasites and is thus
cheaper. has anyone had any experience with this? i think it is only
available by prescription.>>>>>>>

The drug is called praziquantel (commercial name: Droncit) and it is indeed
available only through veterinarians.
As a single dose is effective on tapeworms only. It kills also adult flukes,
but
to eliminate them you need to treat again after a week, in order to kill
those
who hatched from the eggs present at the time of first treatment, before
they
can lay new eggs. It is not effective on nematodes. See details on how to
use
it at : http://world.std.com/~enjolras/symtreat.htm
