Fw: KAS Show (fwd)
Another show, this one more accessible from Seattle, on the weekend of
July 29th. The Kitsap Aquarium Society, has "dwindled" quite a bit over
the last few years, and consequently so has their show (very apparent in
the message below). But short of driving to Portland (which I *HIGHLY*
recommend, btw. They put on an EXCELLENT and criminally under-attended
festival in October), this may be the only way for many of us to see an
actual fish show.

Subject: KAS Show
It is that time of year again.... time for the Kitsap Aquarium Society
Annual Show. July 27-- 28 & 29th in Silverdale, WA. during Whaling Days
Festival This year's show will be generally an Exhibit Show. No one
outside of the current club members have expressed that they will be
entering anything. Even the show will be primarily an Exhibit Show, we
decided that those participating in the show would still appreciate having
their tanks judged.
Judging of the exhibits will be on the entries own merits. We are not
having any big trophies or specialty awards this year. But it would be
nice for the public to see certificates and ribbons with the tanks we
have, and it would give those that enter something for their time and
effort.
We will also have our Annual Auction on Sunday (July 29th), starting at
NOON. So far, it does not appear that we will have a tremendously big
auction. For those of you, or others, that want to bring multiple fish or
plants, we would suggest not overloading yourself...we want you to get the
most out of your product. The auction last year was small, but those who
were there were disappointed that there were no fish or plants for
auction.
Ray (Kingfish) Lucus had planned to come this year, BUT, we knew that our
Show would not meet the Standards of his Product Donors. It is our goal
to regroup and once again have him come to the Great Northwestern
Washington area.
Please announce the show at your next scheduled meeting and if you are
doing any mailings, we would also appreciate the publicity. As always,
thanks for your assistance.
