Oh yes, definitely OPTIONAL.  I apologize for any confusion.  My original
reference to "... (and we do mean EXCHANGE)" was meant to bring back fond
memories of the game we play with the gifts -- exchanging, and exchanging,
and exchanging until you have a different gift at the end of the game than
the one you started out with.  It was in no way meant to imply that the gift
exchange is mandatory.

Just a side note: the gift exchange, as always, is OPTIONAL, should you
not wish to participate!
