[GSAS-Announce] GSAS March 2005 Meeting Reminder - Tuesday, March 8, 2005
The Greater Seattle Aquarium Society will be holding its regular, March
meeting this coming Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 7:30pm at our regular meeting
location on the campus of Seattle Pacific University.
We've probably all, at one time or another, gazed at a beautiful saltwater
aquarium setup and thought "I wonder if I could do that?" Well, it's not as
hard as you might think - especially for experienced fresh-water aquarists
that have already tackled such hurdles as the beneficial bacteria cycle,
developing a water-change regimen, and who have a healthy respect for water
chemistry. Since many of our members have expressed an interest in learning
more about saltwater, the Board has invited Mike O'Brien to be our guest
speaker at this month's GSAS meeting. Mike will be offering us a short
presentation on "Beginning Saltwater Aquaria and Reefkeeping" after which he
will host an extended question-and-answer time. Mike is the President of
the Puget Sound Aquarium Society (PSAS) based right here in the Seattle
area. You can learn more about their organization by visiting
www.thepsas.org <http://www.thepsas.org/> . The Fish-O-the-Month
(door-prize) for this month will be three $10.00 gift certificates which you
could use to start your new saltwater setup if you get inspired by Mike's
presentation.
So, please make plans to attend, get involved, and watch our club grow! The
doors open for the general public at 7:00pm so come a little early and get
acquainted with others that share your love for all things aquatic! Check
out our website for directions and other interesting information at
www.gsas.org .
We'll see you Tuesday night!
Rick Rose, GSAS Promotions
