RE: Talking in Seattle (fwd)

Hmmmmmm......I was wondering what was up with the pizzas. I guess I missed
that since I wasn't at the previous board meeting. After a few IOUs are
collected, it looks like our net proceeds from the auction will be just a
little over $1800.00 (that is with the splits taken out i.e. I deposited over
$2300.00 in the bank last Saturday). Sooooooo......Good Job!
Victoria and I have a little suggestion that should make the record
keeping easier at the next auction. We seem to have brought in about $30-$40
less than what was recorded on the master list and Victoria said that she may
have missed an item because of all the "hubbub" in front of the record keepers.
We propose that the auctioneer say "sold to number so-and-so for x amount" to
the bidding audience so that they know who purchased the item. Then we would
like the auctioneer to stroll on over to the record keepers and tell them
directly "such and such item sold for this much to number so-and-so" and make
sure that the recorders all have the information. It was difficult to follow
the information when there is a lot of activity between the auctioneer and the
recorders AND the recorders want to bid on some of the items as well. But a
great job overall!
