Hi, I'm for changing the board meeting to Wed. evenings. If we do this for this month on Nov 24 th, that in the night before Thanksgiving, and would be hard for me. How about Wed the 1st of Dec? I think we should go with some kind of election at the Dec meeting. It should be announced both in the newsletter and email. dave -----Original Message----- From: Erik Olson [mailto:erik@thekrib.com] Sent: Monday, November 15, 1999 4:20 PM To: gsas-board@gsas.org Subject: Board stuff (or is that bored stiff?) I have a couple ideas I wanted to bounce off everyone before I forget: 1. Change board meeting night to Wednesday instead of Tuesday? At least two of our board members have trouble making the meetings on Tuesdays as it is. The reason I bring this up now is that at least four of us, (including the hospitality coordinator?) won't be able to make the next scheduled board meeting (November 30th)... perhaps we could make it the Wednesday before. 2. Hold elections, or at least get through the nominations, in the December meeting. We've basically been dragging feet for 4-6 months with last year's board and have yet to formally nominate or elect any members, let alone any of the offices. Again, this could be a good thing. December's Christmas party is a pretty laid-back pace meeting, much more appropriate than the typical hectic June blowouts of recent years. Another good thing with this scheme is that it will keep the same board over the summer break, giving continuity for the next season. - Erik -- Erik Olson erik at thekrib dot com
