I waited a while to reply on this topic to make sure I had my thoughts
sorted out.

In retrospect if anyone should take responsibility for this causing a delay
in us getting out of there it should be me.

Yes, Sandy was being unreasonable, but she also accepted it when I initially
told her that we would be settling out the money owed for splits at a later
date. I also made the decision to allow her to give an IOU for the items she
purchased.

I then made the choice to try and correct the individual items that were in
error.  Yes she is rude, and perhaps on another day I might have given her a
piece of my mind, but given the circumstances I wanted to on a public face
(there were still other attendees around for much of the time) and show that
we are reasonable folks.

I appreciate the support I got in dealing with her.

I wasn't there, so I don't know what happened....my response, of course it
is so easy to do on the sidelines is...."we will deal with splits after
the
auction", easy to say after the event.  I would have murdered her, or
taken her down the carpet in a
woman's brawl.  I REFUSE to let SANDY, ruin the club for me, or the board
meetings etc.  I will CONFRONT her on the behavior that bothers me, until
you guys either say cool it, or one of us quits.  Paying for the aquarium 
and holding everyone up for her measly squabble was horrible, it got me
pissed in PA.  On another note, I got a personal email
from her, wish I could forward it to the board, she really does
feel like there is "the group" (ie Click) and she is trying to break in,
and wants to be respected as a fish breeder and hence is trying to get her
place in order for the board meeting, so everyone can see her tanks and
that she is a serious aquarist etc....and win our respect etc.  Now, the
board meeting, I hope I am at this one, so I can be there to help deal
with issues.  I checked I will be there Tues the 25th.


*Suggestions
Make the person selling, keep track of the items...ie copy of there list
is printed so they have amounts and who it is sold too.  And we will
discuss discrepancies after the auction, ie via email or phone.

I am happy to confront people where I need to, and I would volunteer to be
an arbitrator where needed.

Sounds like the back room needed better organization.

I wonder about doing it where we block the exit, and give people the
auction items in the auction....they pay on their way out.(didn't someone
suggest this ?Bob) There is also that receipt system they use.  I will
talk to Portland and see how they do theirs.  At their auction, there is
NO discussion of splits, no report of what our items sold for (I think),
we just got a check in the mail.
