What: Wayne Leibel speaks on the history of the aquarium hobby Where: The Seattle Aquarium, upstairs at the auditorium When: Tuesday, June 13th, 7:30 PM. As always: It's free. Bring your friends, family... You may have seen some of the posters at fish stores around town, or read here or on our website... we're in final preparations for our big blowout season-ending meeting next Tuesday. This is a fun presentation that covers the last hundred or more years of aquarium history, from the early origins in the 1800's, through the fanciful gilded aquaria and fishbowls of the Victorian era, to the emergence of technology of the 20th century. Wayne's talk is sponsored by Marineland (Thank You!), and they have donated quite a lot of hardware for us to display and auction (one each of most of their product line!). We're not sure exactly how this will work and how much we will auction (it will most likely be a silent auction), but since Kathy and I don't want to store it in our garage over the summer, we'll be doing our darndest to insure YOU get a chance to walk out of the meeting with it! Hope to see you there. - Erik -- Erik Olson erik at thekrib dot com
