GSAS Board Meeting - 2 Jan 2001
Present: Scott, Victoria, Joe, Bob Holmes, Don, Erik

Scott was the evening's stand-in Vice President, as we still have none,
and the prez was absent.

Treasury and Membership: Scott deposited some checks that he had not
deposited at the previous meeting.  Two new members, three renewals, three
more checks for this month.  Erik needs to fix the website to say "Make
checks payable to GSAS" as one of the checks was payable to Scott.

Library: Bob now has a key, but no other news.

PR: Scott tried to contact a UW student who offered (like 3 months ago) to
help with our PR as part of a student project, and not surprisingly, has
not heard a reply.  Joe volunteered to take over sending the e-mail 
meeting announcements (to gsas-announce@thekrib.com).

Philanthropy:  Scott called Linda Dixon of the aquarium again (who was not
there); said we were interested in donating money.  Maybe he'll ask Becky
instead.  Bob has lined up Roxbury Elementary School for the "next"
project; he's contacting school officials now.

BAP/HAP: Bob doesn't have the forms for BAP... he'll either white-out an
old form of his or get his "computer-friendly" wife to do something.

Fish of the Month: Erik will bring in plant cuttings, and Bob will bring
in more barbs.

Contest: Plant growing contest starts February.

Plant Auction: Lots of discussion, mostly about when the auction planning
starts and why... Steve, puhlleeeeeeze help one more year!

Hospitality: Victoria will be there this month.

Board Meeting: Next meeting is at Bob Holmes' home in West Seattle,
January 30th.  Joe won't be there (business trip in Orlando).  Bob has
maps to his house.
