Subject: Email for Kathy: Plant auction followup question about special
interest group
Hey Erik and Kathy,
Great job at the auction last night. I have -got- to get home and plant
all the new plants currently floating my tank :-) I have a followup
question for Kathy from our conversation last night. I'm curious about
the possibility of setting up a special interest group for rainbowfish
hobbyists under the GSAS umbrella.
We've got a loosely affiliated bunch of folks (four or so regulars,
another five interested, and we haven't advertised anywhere yet) who are
interested in rainbows. We'd like to set up a group to trade eggs and
fry, talk fish, probably place a few wholesale orders (as the local
shops generally don't carry what we're looking for), and sign up for
bulk subscriptions to the foreign rainbow mags. Is GSAS a good venue
for a group like that?
We're more interested talking fish and ordering things as a group than
we are in publishing our own newsletter (we'd all read ANGFA anyway),
but I'm sure we could contribute to the GSAS in some way, by regularly
contributing a column, finding other speakers, or something like that.
What should I do to learn more about setting up something like that?
Many thanks,
Darcey Harding
