RE: FW: Visiting Koi Vet...
I'm torn! Kudos to Portland for keeping us in the loop, but I'm also not
sure that a koi speaker is worth all the trouble of putting together a
second speaker. On the other hand, I'm always interested in hearing from
ANY vet - particularly a fish vet, even if they do specialize in koi.
This does seem like a good time of year for an outdoor topic like
koi. Presumably the fish are starting to wake up from winter torpor (just
like the rest of us). If we could somehow tap into a koi-centric user base
and whip up a little more demand, the koi vet would be great. Maybe - as a
special occasion kind of thing - we could cross-promote with another local
group, thus sharing expenses and boosting attendance. I note several local
koi clubs listed at:

Do we have any contacts with these groups?

I'll chime in on this. I don't think that koi diseases would be a topic of
general interest to most club members. I vote not to have a second speaker
in May.
