RE: newsletter update
Personally, I am very happy to receive a newsletter in any format! However
and whenever it comes. Having been an editor in the past (dog organization)
I'll not rock the boat.

Hmm, I had decided to just keep quiet about it, but since you're asking,
I guess my opinions are that:
1, as long as people still want printed copies, you still have to do
all the work to make printed copies. As long as people still need
postcards to notify them about the meeting, you still need to do
mailings, and labels, and stamps.
2, Worse, now we would be adding TWO groups of people, TWICE as much
to keep track of, and having to produce TWO things every month.
2, people blow stuff off that you have to go and pick up, like things
on the web. Maybe it's different being "one click away".
3, Aside from the ability to do color, I'm not sure what the web gains
over print anyway. With straight HTML, the resolution is lower, you
have less control with layout. And if you did want to have improved
layout and resolution, you'd end up with a 10 megabyte PDF. which
reminds me:
4, This would now mean that somebody would now have to keep track of
things like monthly passwords for said "members-only" area on
website.
6, The reason we had problems with the newsletter has never been because
of production woes, it's always been lack of participation.
So in summary, I don't really see an advantage.
