Question......about goldfish....help please.

Good Afternoon,

I got this from Brian, the guy that wanted to use our Society Logo.  I was
hoping we might be able to help answer his question (see below).  Do any of
you have an answer to his question or perhaps someone I can talk to about
the issue?  I know nothing about goldfish other than they are
mutants....~~laughing~~....it's a joke, honest.....

P.S. As I was adding the logo & links back to 
http://www.ncnr.nist.gov/xtal/software/gsas.html, it occurred to me that
I do have a question for *your* GSAS. Is there anyone in your society
who has much experience with goldfish? My 8 year old son has one that
now lays on the bottom of the bowl, except for occasionally swimming to
the top to eat. When Fishstick (as my son named it back when he was 2,
for his then favorite food) first stopped swimming around, I figured
that I could predict what would happen in a few days, but Fishstick has
been like this for a good six months and a few changes of tank water and
I am wondering why.
