Good Morning,

I would still, very much, like to see Paul in June per our plan, but,
hopefully we can make some of these other speakers work out as well with the
Portland club.  We have an excellent opportunity to become a regional, or
PNW, multi-club draw for great speakers and fantastic shows, meetings, etc
if we continue to work with the Portland club.  I am not suggesting we make
our own club's interests second to another club or combination of clubs.
But, I think we can accomplish so much more if we work together with other
local club efforts.  Especially when it comes to shows and such, which is
something that many of the club members have expressed an interest in, but,
we cannot seem to get enough local support to produce on our own.

Kathy, does that help with our direction, or have I made it more gray than
before?

Erik and I were talking about speakers. (Julie Z from Portland emailed, 
which I sent onto Clay).

Just something to remember is that for EVERY TALK we do with Portland we 
have to change our meeting dates.  This is something to consider.

Sounds like Jan will be a week late, May will be a week early.

Paul Loiselle agreed to be our Marineland Speaker but would like to make 
it with Portland. Doesn't sound like that will work with Portland.  I will 
work with Paul on this, perhaps SF or Sacramento, or PCCA may combine with 
him.


I was prior going to see if Paul would do June.  But that being said.  
That means ALL our MAJOR talks in the spring would be cichlids.  Not sure 
we have much choice, as everyone is usually booked..up to a year in 
advance.  (Wessel, Loiselle, and Koning all are, Wessel just had Jan open 
but NOT later).

So do you want me to see if Paul Loiselle can come in the fall??

I said I would do two talks and last June the two people that were decided 
on at the Board meeting are Paul Loiselle and and Ad Konings.  Those are 
the two I am still working on.

(as an aside Mike Schadle cancelled on our club in the last two years 
because he couldn't miss work to be here.  I really don't expect him to 
make it this year.  I know Julie thinks he will, she is looking to cut 
costs for GPAS by sharing, but I don't think Mike will, just FYI).

Please tell me how to proceed with TIME OF BOOKING PAUL LOISELLE for next 
year.
