RE: January 2003 Board Meeting Minutes - Preliminary Publication for Review

Sorry I didn't get a chance to look at the notes earlier.  I've been at 
work all weekend pulling 12-hour days running a heavy scale-out test.

"The newsletter editor chair will be vacant" ... There is no July
newsletter.  The newsletter is traditionally only done before each
meeting, and so would not publish in July or August.  So the June 1st/June
30th date Erika gave is not ambiguous.

"The board briefly revisited the current policy of Attendance 
Requirements..."  It was not brief.  It was long, painful, drawn-out, and 
unresolved.

"Kathy will provide a Task List..." Program coordinator has always been a
superset of "Speaker Wrangler".  i.e., if you discount the last two years 
of big speakers the club had, GSAS actually had one person who was the 
meeting coordinator, and another person (Kathy) who was just in charge of 
getting special speakers.  This latter job was the Speaker Wrangler.  The 
meeting coordinator is in charge of making sure there's a meeting each 
month, leaving the speaker wrangler to stay in charge of just getting 
ahold of speakers and making sure their experience goes well, etc.  It was 
only last season or the season before where Kathy did both jobs, because 
there were just so durned many speakers (and so few others to help 
organize meeting topics).
