Good Morning, So, who would like to give the Fish Store a call and work with them for a donation? Below is a note from Kathy on how to approach them and when. "On the fish store donation, you need to call in the morning between 10-11am. Let them know, ASAP. It takes them a few weeks thinking about it, before they do donate, and plan on calling multiple times. Frank is the owner. Jim is the cool Portland person who was in GPAS, and works there...not sure if he can help with the donation. They also get offended if we don't ask, and always donate something around $100 or so, so definitely assign someone to it." Kathy Thank you Erik for covering the other items on the list. Gosh, if you had made it to the meeting you would have gotten to see the biggest free standing tank I have ever seen and help move it too. ~~laughing~~ I am really glad I will not have to clean that tank.....it was amazing, but, will present all kinds of logistics problems I think. It will be very interesting to see how Paul handles the tank and gets it all functioning. He will only have 14 1/2 inches of clearance between the ceiling and the top of this tank he is putting up. It is HUGE!!!! I look forward to seeing it when he has it up and running. Sorry I didn't make it to the board meeting as well. Wanted to See Paul's place, but just didn't have the heart to drive on Thursday. > 9) The Fish Store in Seattle - ???? (Erik ) Eh, I'd really prefer if someone else take care of contacting The Fish Store. They are probably the "problem donor" that Rick referred to in his notes. The only problem dealing with them is to not ask them the day before the meeting. Contact them early by phone. They are happy to donate and advertise "because it helps the club directly", but they don't want to give discounts to members "because it doesn't help the club directly". > C. Split Sheets - ???? (Erik ) Replace Split Sheets with "Bar Code Labels" for C. Yes, I will do them! > D. Website - ???? (Erik ) If Rick has some specific text, I will be happy to copy it. Otherwise I'll just make something up. > X. Check-In - Verify items have bidder Stickers Just red seller stickers on the "split" items. Don't need bidder stickers, because most of the time we're improvising things into lots as the auction progresses. - Erik -- Erik Olson erik at thekrib dot com ------------------ To unsubscribe from this list, e-mail majordomo@thekrib.com with "unsubscribe gsas-board" in the body of the message.
