FW: AD Koning,

Good Evening,

One more note to work on at the Board Meeting. Please read what I wrote to
Kathy below. I don't want any of you to think that what I say is final in
situations of this type, I think this is a good example of something that
should be brought to the Board for vote. So, with that said, and as I noted to
Kathy, below, please take my note as my opinion and that is all. I am hoping
that the Board will vote on this and decide what to do please.
Also, the Board needs to address what to do with the month that Paul Loiselle
was going to speak to the club, as Paul cannot make that meeting now. Please
come up with a new topic and assign someone to make it happen.

Thanks again and I really appreciate all of your help,

Clay

Kathy,

No, you have a good point, it should be presented to the Board. I was only
making my counterpoint. Please ask Erik to bring it to the Board for a vote.
I will not be at the Board meeting, but, the Board knows my opinion now. If
the Board feels the request is worthy of granting, I will be happy to stand by
it. We may wish to make sure we talk to our fish of the month folks about
finding some other fish if we do change our presentation topic. Also, this
needs to be OKed by Portland as well, who will coordinate that issue? Also,
you are very correct, the only stupid question is the one not asked, so, I am
glad you did ask.....thank you....~~smile~~.

Clay

Clay,

I was just inquiring. I had heard a member ask for Lake Malawi. I am
fine either way. Just thought since Lee Newman has come down and spoken
to the club, and also picked up speakers (when they wanted a Vancouver
tour), and since the Vancouver Aquarium has also let the speakers and me
in free when I bring them up there (which Seattle wouldn't do when I
asked) that it might be a nice way to help them out too. As long as it is
mutually beneficial to all groups. (in past years they have also come
down and supported our auctions as well, just not the last two years with
border/exchange issues)

I know I am planning to go to Portland and will hear both talks, so it
didn't matter to me, instead I wanted to defer to the board, which is why
I asked.

So, no problem, we will leave it as Lake Tanganyika in Seattle.

For the record Vancouver Aquarium folks weren't asking that we changed it,
they just inquired. After all if you don't ask, then you never know.

I bet they will be coming down to hear Ad, no matter what he speaks on.

Thanks, I wanted to bring it up to the board.

Kathy
