RE: meeting

June,

I was not trying to be unkind, I just know that my house is a long ways away
for some. I have entertained all kinds of requests relative to time changes
and date changes relative to the past Board Meetings. Thus, I am only trying
to offer up options if some feel it is too far to travel to Tacoma. I will make
it to Tacoma no matter what as long as I am in state and my family is not
adversely impacted. Part of what I think my responsibilities as President
include.

Everyone,

Along these lines I know some clubs meet in restaurants and that might be an
option for a location half way in between, or closer to halfway at least. I
would realy like to make it work the best for all those that attend the club
and the board meetings too.

With all that said, I would like to ask the Board what all should be on the
agenda for this upcoming Board Meeting. I know that June would like to discuss
what we wish to see in the future relative to the newsletter. I have a couple
things I think we should discuss. It appears we have the last meeting of the
year addressed and I think that is great!! But, I think we should discuss the
Summer picnic and where and what that might entail. I know that Paul
Winchester has offered his place as an option for the picnic.
The other item I would really like to get addressed is how much longer the
officer terms will go. I am bringing this up because I am beginning to feel
that I am out of sync with the direction that the Board majority wish to go
with the club. I feel I have been misunderstood more and more of recent. I am
not complaining, but, I do not wish to be a roadblock to the advancement of the
club. Perhaps it is just what happens to others that have been in office for
so long, they get burned out. I find it very difficult to put my finger on
what exactly it is......to me it is just a feeling of unease that I cannot
pinpoint.
I know we have discussed elections in December, which is fine by me if that is
what the majority wish. I will stay on as President as long as the Board
wishes me to this year. However, I likely will not be running for any position
after this year. Now, I know that we have not waited until December to elect
officers in the past. However, I can see the advantages that others have
pointed out to waiting until December. So, if we are going to change elections
permanently, I think we should ammend our bylaws. But, to do this, I do
believe it would be worthwhile to review the bylaws completely and update them
wherever we feel it necessary. To do this, I believe it is extremely important
that we have all Board Members provide input and if possible vote on
incorporating any changes we make to the bylaws. However, to even begin this
journey we need to get a copy of the bylaws into all Board Member's hands. I
believe I have seen email that would indicate that Rick is trying to get a
modifiable digital version of the bylaws put together. If this is true, how
soon might we see it?

Ok, that was a long winded way of saying "Let's take a look at our recently
found bylaws and fix them up for the future of the club". Can we start this
effort at the next Board meeting? I am not trying to push, just a question is
all.

Clay

Meeting was set for 22nd, usual time at my house which is indeed Tacoma. I
will provide directions. Time and date change is possible and ok for me but
I don't know about others. Be kind Clay, it is a long drive to your house
for meetings. I am not a board member but feel I should attend meetings for
good communication between editor and board and intend to make that drive.
:-)
